Today I attempted to migrate a Windows 10 user from one computer to another computer. The Backup process completed successfully and reported that there had been 1 error with error code 5. I read through the logs and it didn’t seem to be too bad so I moved the .Mig file to the new computer and attempted the restore process. However, after browsing to the folder with the .mig file, selecting it and hitting the Open button on the file chooser I get the error:

    —————————
    Fatal Error
    —————————
Unforeseen error caught. Contact EhlerTech for assistance!
    Error:
    at System.String.Substring(Int32 startIndex, Int32 length)
    at WindowsApplication1.usmtgui_main.OpenFileDialog1_FileOk(Object sender, CancelEventArgs e)
    at System.Windows.Forms.FileDialog.OnFileOk(CancelEventArgs e)
    at System.Windows.Forms.FileDialog.HandleVistaFileOk(IFileDialog dialog)
    —————————
    OK
    —————————

When I hit OK on the error dialogue I get returned to the file chooser dialogue but whenever I try to open the .mig file I get the error.

I am using the Standalone version 10.19.1809
I tried installing the installed version on the target machine but get the same result.

The .mig file is 51GB big so it’s a pretty big migration.

Hoping you can find the solution.
